The Thien Cau dance (Thien Cau means “sacred dog”) is a typical folk performance in Hoi An, especially on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival. This performance reflects cultural exchange marks in Hoi An ancient town which is used to be a bustling trading port in the history, as well expresses wishes for favorable weather and blessings of local residents.

In order to promote the unique cultural values of the Thien Cau dance, from September 12 to 18, 2024, Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation will organize a space of theme exhibition at the Hoi An communal House (No. 27 Le Loi street). The exhibition will include a photo collection of Thien Cau dance made by photographer Quang Hai and a collection of traditional masks and Thien Cau model made by artisan Nguyen Hung.
