On the morning of September 23, 2024, at the office of Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Prervation, Mr. Pham Phu Ngoc - Director, had a working session with the delegation of Ritsumeikan University, Japan about the contents of heritagage management, preservation and promotion, and disaster mitigation in Hoi An Ancient Town.

The delegation of Ritsumeikan University, Japan consisted of 21 people, including 3 professors and 18 students, graduate students. At the working session, Mr. Pham Phu Ngoc presented his experiences in the management, preservation and promotion work of Hoi An cultural heritage, especially he shared the contents related to disaster management for the ancient town such as prevention of floods and storms, fire & explosion, etc. Then, the delegation had the chance to visit the Hoi An Ancient Town by the Center staff’s guidance.

This is an annual extracurricular program organized by Ritsumeikan University to create conditions for students and researchers to have the opportunity to access and improve their knowledge in the work of preserving and promoting heritage values at World Heritage Sites. In addition, this working session is also an opportunity to promote the image of the city of Hoi An, Vietnam to foreigners which contributes to the development of research work and cultural diplomacy.
